Vishal–Shekhar, the dynamic duo of the Bollywood music industry is a powerhouse in Indian music composition, production, singing, and songwriting. Their first collaboration as a duo was for the film 'Champion', where they composed two tracks. However, their big break came with the soundtrack for 'Jhankaar Beats' (2003), featuring hit songs like 'Tu Aashiqui Hai' and 'Suno Na'. This soundtrack earned them the Filmfare RD Burman Award for New Music Talent.

The duo have predominantly worked in Hindi cinema but have also made significant contributions to Telugu, Tamil, and Marathi music. Their collaborations with international artists like Akon, The Vamps, Imogen Heap, and Diplo highlight their versatility and global appeal. Vishal–Shekhar has achieved remarkable success with over 3 billion streams on YouTube, 72 number-one singles, and contributions to over 350 film soundtracks, making them one of the most successful music composers in Bollywood history.

Vishal Dadlani's journey into Bollywood began with his band ‘Pentagram’, which included members Shiraz Bhattacharya and Samrat. They made their Bollywood debut with Tyger Productions' film 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi' (1999), delivering hits like 'Woh Pehli Baar' and 'Musu Musu Hasi'. Coincidentally, Shekhar Ravjiani, Vishal's childhood friend, also composed tracks for the same film, including 'Dil Se Mere Door Na Jana'. Their meeting in the studio during this project led to the formation of the musical duo Vishal-Shekhar.

They continued to create successful soundtracks for films like 'Supari' (2003) and 'Musafir' (2004), with the song 'Allah Ke Bande' becoming particularly popular.

They received their first Filmfare Award nomination for Best Music Director for 'Dus'. Their soundtrack for 'Om Shanti Om' (2007), which included iconic songs like 'Main Agar Kahoon' and 'Dard-e-Disco', further established their reputation, earning them another Filmfare nomination and the Best Composer Award at the 2nd Asian Film Awards.

Vishal–Shekhar delivered numerous successful soundtracks, including 'Tashan' (2008), 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' (2008), and 'Dostana' (2008). ' In 2011, they collaborated with international artist Akon for the song 'Chammak Challo' in 'Ra.One'. 

In addition to their film work, Vishal–Shekhar have been prominent figures on Indian television, serving as judges on popular music shows like ‘Indian Idol Junior’, ‘The Stage India’, ‘MTV Hustle’, ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’, ‘Voice of India – Mummy Ke Superstars’, ‘Indian Idol’, and ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar’.
